**Adele Doesn't Need the Streaming Apps** [Home](..) _posted 2015-11-20_ I gladly spent $11 this morning on _25_ before I left for the office. I don't buy that many albums anymore -- just those that pass the "subway test." The subway test applies to those albums that I feel I _need_ access to no matter where I am. If an album is available on Spotify free but I really want to listen to it even when I can't get wifi or LTE, I'll buy it. (Unless it is available on Amazon Prime music; I can download their tracks to my phone. But how many "hot new albums" are available on Amazon?) Most of the albums I've bought I already previewed in their entirety on Spotify free. I didn't even give Adele much more of a listen test than those 30-second previews in the iTunes Music Store. Going on my 😥 watching [When We Were Young](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDWKuo3gXMQ) I felt confident that I would get my money's worth. If enough people feel the same way I do, I do not think Adele is making a mistake. It's not like she is not getting enough exposure.
