I’m a big Spock’s Beard fan, and gladly bought this double-album directly from Radiant Records. After many listens, I’d say there are a number of well-executed sections, but the repetition of a handful of musical motifs over and over again throughout the album is particularly grating. I understand it’s a “concept album” or what-have-you, but I think it would have been stronger if it had been cut in half. I don’t think Mr. Morse is brilliant enough to re-assemble his themes in ways that don’t sound rehashed.
