**Revisiting Panic's Status Board** [home](..) _posted 2015-11-18_ I have an iPad mini that's really slow on iOS 8 and that received a poor screen replacement, so I do not enjoy using it. Now that I have an iPhone 6s+, I've stopped using it entirely. However, Panic recently released [Status Board 2](https://panic.com/statusboard/), and I figured I'd see if I could put my iPad to good use. I have recently been practicing Inbox Zero. I achieved that by archiving everything, and processing new emails as they come in. While I'm at the office, I've tried various solutions to checking my personal email throughout the day: * Have a tab open for each email provider in my desktop browser * Check the Mail app on my iPhone * [Consolidate my accounts on Netvibes](http://thoughts.jeffreykishner.com/post/revisiting-netvibes-com/) Now I have a status board that is devoted solely to email. I have one email widget for Gmail on the left side, and one for Fastmail on the right. Above each I have a text widget to label each, so that if I new email arrives, I know which account it belongs to. When I have Inbox Zero, the status board is nearly all black, so it is not distracting. And when a new email arrives, it's obvious, but not overwhelming. (I would take a screenshot but [the Home button on my iPad is broken](http://blog.jeffreykishner.com/2014/11/07/i99repaircomReview.html).)
