Postach.io Nixes Free Plan

Evernote blogging platform Postach.io just announced that they will no longer have a free tier, and that anyone who doesn’t upgrade by March 17 will have their blog archived.

Although I can respect their decision to change their business model, my decision to move on has only been re-affirmed. $9 per month seems like a lot for this service. Although I have never tried Squarespace, they seem to have a much more powerful CMS for a smaller monthly fee.

The bummer is that I will have to recreate all my old thoughts.jeffreykishner.com blog posts at the same permalinks. Fortunately, I was using my own subdomain, so it’s possible … it’s just not convenient.

And I only have 11 days to do it.

I should note that I gladly pay for many web services (Fastmail, Pinboard, Evernote, Dropbox, and more) but Postach.io never seemed to offer enough “wow” to make me want to give them money. And even 50% off for early adopters isn’t enticing enough an offer.
