I am no longer writing about every New and Full Moon. However, do check in occasionally, as I will blog about astrological topics that are not relevant to my other blog, Seduction Central.

Stupid friggin' Mercury retrograde

As we become a more technologically-dependent society, do retrograde cycles isolate us more from our fellow human beings?

We now connect more with people outside of our local community, via personal computers, cell phones, Blackberrys and Treos. When these devices go down during Mercury's backwards turn, we're cut off from sources of social support, not to mention news, gossip and essential information like passwords, checking registers and phone numbers. (God forbid we actually call someone on the phone instead of texting them!)

I'm only writing this because my stupid friggin' Palm won't Hotsync today, and I'm not getting my Salon.com and NYTimes fix that I usually read over AvantGo. Do I actually have to buy a newspaper? Or read movie reviews on my laptop during breakfast! What an inconvenience!

No kidding, Jeffrey! Blogger is having issues this afternoon, so I gave up after an hour of trying to post a new article. Meanwhile, if my computer doesn't STOP MAKING THIS HORRIBLE NOISE, I'm either going to kill it or kill myself. Maybe both. The first reported incident of computer murder-suicide.

Pat, Blogger sucks even when Mercury is direct.

ROFLMAO, Jeffrey.

But it's free ... and I actually was paying for another blog host before switching to Blogger and didn't like that one, either. At the time, you had a choice of three lousy fonts, no choice of font size, and you couldn't work in Word and paste into their itty-bitty text box.

So for now, Blogger it is, warts and all.

Oh ... and I did finally get my new article up and saw that they have an outage scheduled for 4 p.m. I don't have any empirical evidence, but it does seem to me like they have more outages while Mercury is Rx (unless maybe I just notice them more).

Oh, and another thing...

Back to your original question, YES!

A couple of weeks ago, I got home around 5 p.m. to find out that the entire island was without phone service, which meant my DSL was out. I almost had to go into childhood regression thumb-sucking mode to survive four hours without an Internet connection! The Internet allows me to live and work in a remote area where my psychic sensitivity is protected, but the flip side is exactly the problem you present.

September which started out sooooo dull has turned into a Me against the Universe October
I sprained my ankle and tore a ligament, I now have a sinus infection, I'm into a guy who clearly has the hots for me but is very taken, and Facebook just disabled my account. I believe the Universe wants me to be some sort of Hermit. I wish the Universe would really come down here and say that to my face so I could punch his smarmy teeth in.

But Jeff, even if you buy the Times and call someone instead of emailing--these things get screwed up with Mercury retro too!
Messages I leave in person with live people don't get repeated by people--certain mail never got here (I think).
And yes, of course, my computer is acting funny(slow for one).
There's lots more if we look, but who wants to do that? :-) :-)

This Mercury Retrograde was weiiird.

I'd say it was a combination of good and bad. I had weird car issues (brand new car had a dead battery--found out before anything happened, though). I went on a trip to the in-laws (went pretty well), but then my husband's schedule was awful and my daughter was really really over-the-top screamy and fussy and teething, and I just felt exhausted and stressed in my routine.

OYE VEY I say! Hope you all are having a good Mercury direct today.

BIG hugs to you Jeffrey-san.
