Taurus New Moon Square Neptune in Aquarius - May 16, 2007

New Moon in TaurusThis New Moon, your security needs conflict with the needs of the collective.

Nearly all of us are attached to our possessions and our preferences. But there is a whole world out there, one in which millions of people have less (materially) than you. And not to romanticize poverty, but those anecdotes -- about the poor in India who are more in touch with the divine in daily life than we are -- can challenge your value system.

Comfort is important. But we blog-readers take many of our affordable Western luxuries for granted. The price of a laptop and high speed internet access is beyond the reach of most.

This New Moon, you may have to sacrifice some of your money or possessions for humanitarian causes. The pull of compassion may result in an awakening to how good you've got it, and how easy it would be for you to do with less, if it means giving someone else more.

Or, your material stability may feel like it is being pulled out from under your feet. Financial transactions over the internet may be sabotaged by deception or confusion. Groups that encourage fuzzy boundaries may attempt to change your personal preferences for the benefit of the whole.

This New Moon occurs at 25 Taurus. Neptune is at 22 Aquarius, about to go retrograde later this month. If you have any personal planets or angles around degree 25 in fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius), you are undergoing the beginnings of a Neptune transit, in which you are likely to be feeling confused, mystically-inclined, lost in fantasy, martyred, escapist, and so on. This New Moon will serve as a trigger to this longer process of dissolution of whatever area of your life is being affected.

Hiya Jeff.I try to share whatever I have, I really so.
With my moon in Taurus I do like comfort...but don't you too?
We do have to eat, and we're not going to give all our goods and money away now are we?
;-)

OK, I shall tell you what happens.:-).
Maybe wiht the new moon, I cna plant " seeds" of change, and growth?
Im am actually afraid of losing my mother's house,(I live here) which I can't afford anyway, but hope I can hold on to long enough to sell.
Lets hope the 'dissolution' doesn't go to that extreme!
I don't want to live in Prospect Park or anything.LOL
I'll let you know Mr.Jeff.

I love comfort. I'm just saying that one's feelings of security can "slip away" at this time.

very interesting, thanks Jeff. today i have placed an ad to sell my house for wanting to go mobile, to give up most of my comforts to live a passion that demands to be honoured.
i'll take it that this is a GOOD time to be selling ;)

Hi Jeff. I'm kinda new to astrology. Where do I look to find what areas of my life will be affected by the new moon? I have Neptune at 25 degrees Scorpio and my Sun at 22 degrees Leo.

So far, Jeff, this lunation has manifested itself in being giddy about this one new guy I met AND afraid that I may go down the old route of not seeing him clearly. Weirdly, we seem to have esp with each other, not that that hasn't happened before but more that we're both aware of it w/o coming out and saying so. In addition, he is very successful and that has brought out my money issues and my ideas about what I deserve or don't, self-worth, Western luxury, etc. It's very odd and the money stuff makes me deeply anxious, man, even though it's also very impressive.

Eme Kah, From looking at your chart, this New Moon opposes your Fifth House Neptune, so romantic stuff would come up. Your money stuff sounds like your natal Saturn square your Second House Sun.

You nailed it re: internet transactions: My venus is 24 Taurus. I made my first Ebay sale and planned to use the money towards new summer clothes. Check was received and deposited and then as I'm online looking at clothes, I get an email from the buyer: Package was badly damaged during shipment and money will need to be returned! So much for attempting to satisfy my venusian desires!

My natal moon's at 28 Aquarius and this morning at 8.30am bailiffs were knocking at door demanding huge chunk of money (re contested parking fines). Thank you for your moon info. Your information plus accuracy of their timing has cheered me up!

Wow, I'm amazed hearing these $ stories, despite their unfortunate outcomes.

Thinking about transiting Neptune at 22 Taurus, I have natal Pluto at 18 Taurus, opposition natal Sun at 17 Aquarius (born 7th Feb 51 at 5.15am in Paris, France), and natal Moon at 28 Aquarius. Now, there are two questions I wanted to ask you.
ONE I am almost at the end of the third year of a training in psychoanalysis that I thought was going to be excellent and have been profoundly disillusioned both by teachers and by content; would that be the Neptune transit over Sun/Pluto?
TWO Recently (past week or so), I have come to a deep certainty that it is all pretty irrelevant, and that the inner life is all that really matters (looking after external with care of course). Would that be transiting Neptune touching off my natal Moon?

Framboise, the Saturn-Neptune opposition brings on disillusionment, as the idealism of Neptune is brought down to reality by Saturn. Neptune has been transiting over Pluto in your 8th house (both of which rule depth psychotherapy). Saturn may be weeding out those parts of psychoanalytic theory that are insubstantial, that don't hold up to evidence.

On a personal note, I have been holding off on psychoanalytic training. What specific "school" of psychonalysis are you training in?

As for question 2, I think tr Neptune is still too far away from your Moon to have a significant impact.

Thank you for fascinating response re Pluto/8th and depth psychotherapy.

The training calls itself 'pluralistic' (inclusive not eclectic) with seminars on Freud & Jung; the 'Independents', Klein and post-K, Lacan and post-L and finally Intersubjectivists.

Half the analysts are frankly batty, other half in their heads. However a few (jewels) combine rigor/insight of analysis with good heart and an understanding of wisdom/the sacred. Much heady verbiage to weed out, but becoming more 'fluent' in identifying unconscious patterns and their manifestations--or so I hope!
