Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Virgo - March 3, 2007

Full Moon Lunar EclipseDear Virgo,

Whether it's the daily yoga routine, the weekly colonic or the three-times-a-day ingestion of multiple supplements and herbs, you get understandably upset when your schedule is disrupted.

Virgo, meet eclipse. You two should get acquainted, although I doubt you'll hit it off. Although the lunar eclipse is in your sign, you're being opposed by a Uranus-Sun conjuction in Pisces. I know that deep down you like Pisces, even though she neglects picking up after herself and plucks away at the guitar too often, singing in that longing, wispy voice. However, Uranus gets your goat. This planet's sole purpose in life is to upset the apple cart, to throw you off your equilibrium. The guy who surprises you from behind when you're perusing vegan cookbooks at the food coop, poking you in that sensitive spot on your waist, nearly making your flower-essence-enhanced spring water spill? That's Uranus.

Imagine knowing that Uranus can catch you off guard at any moment, over the next six months, but you don't know exactly when -- or how -- he'll strike. That's gotta suck, Virgo, because I know you like things just so. And do you know what's worse? There's absolutely nothing you can do about it. You can't tell him to go away. I mean, you can, but it will do no good. He'll say, "Oh, my bad. I'll leave you alone with your organic acai juice," but he doesn't mean it. He's just screwing with you!

So, what can you do to impose order on chaos? Unfortunately, you can't contain the uncontainable. As the astrologers say, "Expect the unexpected." Yet I know you're not going to stop your Virgo ways. You will continue to enter appointments into your Blackberry, consult with your nutritionist, meet with your personal trainer. But as hard as you try, everything will not go as planned. Pisces wants you to let go, and Uranus wants you to identify and dismantle all the rigid structures and attitudes in your life.

Loosen up! Because if you don't, Uranus will be the lightning that strikes down the tower of your carefully constructed life. It will come crumbling down ... but that's a good thing, because these bricks and stones you've laid are covering over your Authentic Self, and the only way to release this alive, thumping heart -- the beating Self constrained by your stratified ways of protecting yourself against Disorder -- is to allow the waves of revolution to wash over you.

The nitty gritty: This lunar eclipse occurs at 13 Virgo. If you have a personal planet or angle between 10 and 18 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces, this eclipse will have a powerful impact on you. For everyone, look to the houses that contain the middle degrees of Virgo and Pisces to determine which areas of your life will be affected. Jupiter in Sag is making a T-Square to this eclipse, which exaggerates an already unstable situation.

Ahaha, that's an entertaining post! :D Or, it was, until I remembered I'm a Virgo. :P
Ah well, all this scheduled-out life didn't work so well, so I'm ready for change. :)

Just a general question...when you you say, "If you have a personal planet or angle between 10 and 18 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces, this eclipse will have a powerful impact on you," do you mean having these NOW in the chart or having them in the BIRTH chart?

It's probably a very obvious answer, and I assume you are talking about the present chart...but you know what they say about assuming. ;-)

And since I'm asking, how can I find where the current planets are in my chart. I know several places that offer free birth charts, but is that where I would also get the current planet activity for my chart?

Thanks...and I enjoy your insights. You have a fantastic writing style. Keep up the great work!

NancyNancy,

I mean the planets in your natal (birth) chart.

To find out how the current planetary movements affect your chart, you can order a 30 day forecast or a Big Picture Yearly Forecast from Tarot.com.

You can also look up the planets in an ephemeris at astro.com, or schedule a consultation with me to look at your transits.

Hi Jeffrey
My Ascendant is 10 degrees Pisces and my Sun is 15 degrees Pisces and my north node is 12 degrees Sag.
Right now I am tingling with energy after a day at work (when I am usually a bit tired). The moon here in Melbourne, Australia a little while ago looked yellow but is now hidden by dark clouds.
We need rain here, but I hope the skies are clear for the full moon and eclipse.
Best wishes from Ros.

Hi Jeffrey,

I think I need to fasten my seatbelt. An eclipse in my first house conjunct natal Uranus/Pluto.
I get what that is about...

But I dont understand a T-square and how this Jupiter T square affects this eclipse.

A T-Square occurs when a planet makes a square (90-degree angle) to both planets in an opposition. In this case, Jupiter in Sag is square Uranus, the Moon and the Sun. Jupiter tends to exaggerate and amplify any planet it aspects, and in a square some of the more negative expressions occur, such as overdoing things, being arrogant, and so on. Jupiter also brings a philosophical flavor to the eclipse -- issues regarding meaning and faith.

I have a Virgo son age 31. Gemini Risisng and mooon. He's the biggest slob I know. Very unorganized and does not have good health habits. Lives on pizza & drinks sweet sodas all day. Does not exercise, sleeps irregular hours and will not see a doctor or dentist. WHY????? I'm an Aquarius and he even drives me crazy.

MollieMae,

Your son may be experiencing tension from the square between Virgo and Gemini, and may have difficulty integrating the conflict. Gemini can be pretty scattered and into quick fixes. Also, he may have a 4th House Sun -- maybe he still wants to be mommied?

Is all these readings based on real time 13 moon 28 day or on make believe time of 12 month 28/30/31 days a year. Because I'm trying to convert to the 13 moon 28 day within the make believe time so I can experience all that my mind, body and soul can become and to become empowered

Most recent Anonymous,

I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm using the Gregorian calendar.

So, here's an interesting twist for me... I'm a Virgo (Sept 5) and I was officially 'due' with a baby on Feb 28th. I am approaching labor with my second child any day now... Full moons have a tendency to cause more women to go into labor. How does an eclipse affect this? Also, I certainly can't help but feel that this new baby will be rocking my world as I'm literally bringing a new Pisces into the world during such a crazy time for a Virgo! Any thoughts?

If your baby is born on the eclipse, it will be much more significant for him or her than for you. Someone born with both lights aligned with the nodes will be "wired" into their spiritual path, and feel a constant pull between the Moon/South Node and Sun/North Node.

Is it not the case that bringing any baby into the world at any time rocks a mother's world?

Ooh, great post, Jeffrey! So witty and illuminating too.

This eclipse will be hitting my Pisces/Virgo nodes and activating my Moon/Venus/Pluto t-square. It is also mighty close to my Uranus/Jupiter conj. in the first degrees of Libra. So I'm looking forward to all the changes. I'm sure it will be painful as hell but also transformative. Kinda like childbirth. Bring it on, Universe!

Hello my name is Nikki...

I am a Sagi ascend..Sun in Virgo in the 9th house, with Uranus, Venus, Pluto. My question is the following, will this Lunar eclipse set the tone for some time, or will the effect last a short period? My 13 yr old son is a Pisces in the 1st house, huge 1st house which starts in Aquarius, with Mars, Venus, Uranus and Mercury, and the Sun of course...We have been in a very rocky relationship, these last months..His father and I split up...Can I consult with you privately?

Thanks,
Nikki

Nikki,

Since lunar eclipses are culminations (Moon opposition Sun), they tend to last no more than six months, although the degree points can remain active past that time and become triggered by transit.

And yes, I am available for private consultations.

Yikes, I'm not sure if I should hide in my closet or dance in the streets! The lunar eclipse was conjunct my natal Uranus (2nd house), which, as you know, is being opposed by T Uranus. Additionally, the eclipse exactly opposes my natal Mercury (8th house) which has Uranus sitting on his back right now. So..... is it the street or the closet???

Dance in the streets! If you try to hide in the closet, the boxes you've stored over your head will tumble down, and your shoe collection will tap tap tap, vehemently kicking you out from where you don't belong.

Well, dancing is more fun and I'm a little claustrophopic as well. Additionally, T Uranus is conjunct my Sun as well (withi 4 degrees, so not that close)so I probably couldn't be able to handle staying in that closet for long. Too boring.

Seriously though, what would one expect from this sort of "hit" by the eclipse?

Well, even without the eclipse, you're in the middle of (or coming out of) an Uranus opposition, which means you need to bring some change into your life, unless you'd rather have a midlife crisis. Uranus is transiting your Mercury, so your nervous system is under strain, brilliant thoughts about sex, death and taxes are entering your mind, and you are having unconventional, unexpected communication experiences.

The eclipse highlights this process, especially your Uranus, which means you need to shake things up even more than a typical Uranus-opposition requires.

Thanks for the additional insight! I am already making lots of changes. The Uranus transit to my Sun started last summer and I quit my job of almost 10 years to go into business for myself. I am now a certified hypnotherapist, am building a networking website for people who provide spiritually based services, and last weekend took what felt like a big jump and committed to doing professional intuitive readings on a more formal basis, even though the step was a bit scary for me.

I figured it is better to have a mid-life awakening than a mid-life crisis!!

Thanks again.
