Does Ceres Rule Virgo?
Pat Paquette makes a compelling case. You really ought to visit her blog! I just found it yesterday, and she's a really good writer, and her blog is called "The Pisces Chronicles," even though she's not a Pisces. She's an Aquarius with a Pisces Moon, and I'm a Pisces with an Aquarius Moon! Like Wow!

Hey Jeff. I stayed right out of the Ceres/Xena/etc. fracas - I figured I'd let everyone else fight the bloody battle about who ruled what - but I have to say my gut instinct tells me Pat is right. On the other hand, I suspect a compelling argument could be made for Vesta's rulership of Virgo, too. Maybe the problem is not one of too many planets, but too few signs!

Certainly, Vesta's relation to sacred sexuality fits well with Virgo. To be honest, I haven't used the asteroid goddesses in my work as an astrologer. However, I feel more motivated to pay attention to them.
I've recently learned that my Sun is conjunct Ceres, my Moon is conjunct Pallas, and Juno is conjunct my descendant, all within a one degree orb, so it seems I am suffused with Goddess energy!
Ceres rules Taurus. Check some Taurean natal charts and you'll see the connection, too.
The asteroid Vesta lies exactly on my Midheaven. I've begun studying the relevance of this more closely as she relates to sacred sexuality and the fact my Venus in Virgo conjunct Uranus/Pluto has had such a dramatic effect in my life experience. Vesta guards the hearth and will not compromise her integrity. If she does allow a man to do so, she suffers deeply. Astrology is beautiful.
