Possessive Scorpio man doesn't want Aquarius woman to have friends

aqua gurl provided a birth time (click chart to view) and writes,
I have been dating a scorpio for a month and I have fallen madly in love with him, but I don't know how he feels about me. He calls and text me everday and all day. He is so nice to me and then he could just lash out any time. One minute hes like i miss you and calls me baby. Then the next minute hes like im about to stop dealing with you real soon and then he's back to nice mod. He is very possessive he does not want me to have friends but he can have friends. We have never been on a date cause he doesnt like to go out late when he has to work, We do talk on the phone all night. He doesn't want anyone to know were dating not even my friend and she the one who hooked us up he says he doesnt want people from his job in his business. I love him and want to stick it out because I feel like his attitudes is just a way of showing me he loves me. What should I do? Does he love me or should i just move on?
Your Scorpio boyfriend is showing classic, stereotypical traits of his sign: possessiveness, secretiveness, reclusiveness. But so what if he loves you? What are you getting out of this relationship? You have generous Jupiter conjunct the cusp of your Seventh House of Partnership -- in loving and compassionate Pisces, no less. You want to experience boundless, idealist love in a relationship -- not to be controlled and have so many limitations placed on your love life.

You've never been on a date with him? He doesn't want anyone -- even your friend -- to know you two are dating? Half the time he lashes out or implies he's going to stop dealing with you? If you've fallen madly in love with him, I'm not going to question the validity of your feelings. Or maybe I will. Why would you put up with being treated this way?

You were born on a Leo Full Moon. You may be an Aquarius who's cool with the distance afforded by this arrangement, but your Leo Moon wants to feel special, to be seen. And how can you receive validation when this guy doesn't want to go out in public with you?

Did your Mommy and Daddy get along? A Full Moon baby can have parents who are constantly in opposition. Maybe you're setting yourself up to repeat this pattern -- by being in a relationship in which your needs won't be met. I'm just saying.

How does a Libra woman resolve conflict with an Aquarius man?

fenceAir signs like to talk things out -- yet the three members of this clan do so in vastly different ways. Take, for example, Libra and Aquarius. Libra talks as a way of building a one-on-one connection, and one of her prime assets (as well as liabilities) is being able to view an issue from multiple perspectives. This understanding helps her to moderate between opposing parties, and suits her well for careers in mediation, law and public relations. However, this ability to balance the scales can work against her in her personal life, for in trying to please everyone, she may neglect her own needs.

Aquarius, on the other hand, approaches relationships from a more detached perspective. The Water Bearer is friendly, to be sure, but in a more impersonal way than Libra. Aquarius talks to spread ideas through the collective, as his ultimate purpose is to improve the lot of humanity. He has fairly fixed ideas, and thus is less able to be swayed by someone else's viewpoint. He feels confident that his ideas are revolutionary, yet he also feels misunderstood because so few embrace his vision. This sense of alienation can make him unyielding in discussions.

What happens if you put Libra and Aquarius in a romantic realtionship? As much as these two Sun signs are compatible, they have their differences. Libra, being an initiating cardinal sign, will attempt to resolve their problems, yet Aquarius can be so stubborn in his belief of "how things should be" that Libra -- able to get where he's coming from -- jumps off the fence (where she lives much of the time) to his side.

After having compromised numerous times, Libra's anger starts to build up. This Venus-ruled sign may be refined and polite, but everybody gets angry! Libra just has a hard time owning and expressing it. After all, Libra is opposite from Aries, the Warrior, who has no problem blowing off steam. As Aries is direct, Libra can express her anger indirectly. For example, if she does not want to agree with Aquarius but also does not want to be upfront about it, she may use indecision as an act of defiance.

Capricorn woman and Aquarius man will marry no matter what

synastry chartLauren included her exact birth time and her fiance's birth date (click chart to view) and writes,
Well me and him have been together for almost 2 years and he asked me to marry him. But im always looking at the internet b/c i love astrology. my problem is everyone and everything i read is telling me that me and him arent the right match and that aqurious men get bored of a cap female. but me and him get along great and we have the same thoughts about everything and have interests in almost everything. so maybe you can help and tell me wether or not a cap female and a aqurious male is a good match. i mean im going to marry him no matter what is said cuz you cant believe everything right? lol
One of the dangers of popular astrology is that it stops at the surface. Yes, Capricorn and Aquarius Suns are not compatible: in the progression of the zodiac, the latter rebels against the rigid hierarchical structures built by the former. However, there is so much more to compatibility than Sun signs. Even though the Sun is the center of the personality, some would argue that -- when it comes to romantic love -- this celestial body is not even the most important ... or at the very least, comparing one Sun to another does not provide critical information. Love compatibility meters abound on the web, and however fun it is to work the drop-down menus to choose the Sun signs for yourself and your love interest, it can be discouraging to read that you're not a great match.

Fortunately, you know what you want and won't let superficial astrology deter you from marrying the man you love. Despite your Sun sign incompatibility, you actually do resonate on many levels. You both have communication planet Mercury in Aquarius, charting your discussions on a similarly deviant path. You and your fiancé like to utter shocking words and to think ahead of the times, making your conversations exciting and unpredictable. In addition, you both have the emotional Moon in cautious Virgo. Your mutual needs and habits are in sync, and you are likely to co-create an orderly, clean home and an efficient daily routine. The potential downside with this lunar placement is that you'll both overanalyze your emotions and have trouble transcending worry and doubt to get your raw feelings out in the open.

Just as you have a planet in Aquarius to shake up your Capricorn Sun's sense of purpose, your fiancé has Venus in Capricorn to ground his Aquarian need for excitement. In fact, his love planet is conjunct your Sun, suggesting that you're just the right type of woman for him. And his Mars in Libra is exactly conjunct your Ascendant, increasing the sexual attraction. I wish you both the best of luck!

Weekly Love and Sex Horoscope: February 4 -10

bird

Wednesday is a significant day, albeit not one for romance. A Solar Eclipse occurs in Aquarius, sign of groups and friendships. Eclipses occur every six months, when a conjunction and opposition between the Sun and Moon happens near the Lunar Nodes, points signifying karmic connections and spiritual evolution. Eclipses are times of profound change, and are often destabilizing when they "hit" a significant part of your chart. This eclipse presents the opportunity for new beginnings regarding themes like revolution, independence, humanitarianism and social change. Aquarius is an impersonal energy more focused on the collective than one-on-one relationships. In addition, Venus sextiles Uranus on the same day. The modern ruler of Aquarius is in a positive aspect with the planet of love, suggesting healthy independence in relationships. Enjoy your freedom, but recognize that the unpredictability quotient is HIGH around an eclipse in Aquarius. Anything can happen, so don't get too attached to preconceived notions about love or anything else. If you have Cancer, Leo or Libra Rising, this lunation will fall in one of your relationship or sex houses. Solar Eclipses are potent for about a year, and this one will get triggered throughout the year when other planets make angles to 17 Aquarius.

guitar girlOn Sunday, the Sun conjoins Neptune. Fantasy, delusion, escapism, drugs ... if you are in a relationship or are starting one, don't make any decisions based on what goes on a week on either side of this date, as it is difficult to ascertain reality when the dreamy planet obscures the clarity of the Sun. However, this is an ideal time to listen to your muse and to channel your visions and ideals into works of art.

Woman born on cusp wonders if she's really an Aquarius

natal chartkhristy included her birth time (click chart to view) and wrote,
I was born on the last day of Aquarius. I'm living with a guy who is also an aquarius. I seem to be showing some characteristics of Pisces. I do feel somewhat abandoned when he would rather spend time with friends. He tells me that I ask him too many questions. I just want him to be able to open up to me as I do with him.
You are indeed an Aquarius, with your Sun in the final degree of this Air sign. Some astrologers say that when you are born on the cusp between two signs, you feel impatient to move on to the next sign, and hence have some Piscean characteristics in your solar expression.

You also have Mercury in Pisces. You communicate from an emotional place. Your Mercury also sits in your Eighth House of Intimacy (as do your Aquarius Sun and Mars), making depth of connection a common theme in your discussions. "Opening up" is essential for you to feel close to someone.

Pisces

The challenge is Saturn's opposition to your Mercury. Saturn is the planet of restriction and structure. One the one hand, you feel compelled to "define" your relationship, as Saturn thrives on limits and walls. You want to know exactly where you stand with your boyfriend. Yet Saturn also puts a strain on communication. Especially in an opposition aspect -- which often manifests in relationships -- you often don't feel "listened to" or understood. It is difficult for you to get your point across -- and it's already difficult because a Pisces Mercury already speaks in such an elliptical manner.

Combine the above with a Scorpio Moon and Cancer Rising, and the strong Water emphasis in your chart more than makes up for being an Aquarius.

Comment below: Were you born on the cusp? How do you feel the pull between two consecutive signs?

Pisces woman wonders about Aquarius man's sincerity

Pragmatic Pisces provided a birth time (click chart to view) and writes,
I have known an Aquarian man for a few years through a mutual friend. Our chemistry is off the charts. I really respect him and love to talk to him. Recently, we were all talking and I realized the depth of my feelings for him. I mouthed in a whisper to the mutual friend, "I think I am in love with him." She smiled and said, "I know." The mutual friend is a very truthful and terribly insightful Sagittarius that is like a sister to me and to him. He heard what I mouthed to her and turned to me and asked, "What did you just say?" with a very serious face. The Sag said, "You can't run from this one." So I told him, "I think I am in love with you." He then told me, “We need to talk.” And we did. I have never had such an in depth and serious conversation with a man about starting a relationship in my life! I have never really had a serious committed relationship. I have avoided men that would actually be good for me. Since that day we have not talked at all. He called once and I missed the call. I have called him twice and left messages but no return. He is a very successful slightly famous business man and is always very busy. He just left the country today and will be gone for two weeks. He said that we would have to take our time. He told me he would be very busy until the beginning of next year. But that was a month ago. I have been reading about Aquarius detachment and need for freedom. But I have also read about their devotion and truthfulness. If he doesn’t call, was what he said the truth? Surprisingly, I don’t feel like my old clingy self. I just wonder if I can trust the seriousness of our conversation. I don’t want to be a silly Piscean girl.
Your Aquarius love interest is probably not lying ... but relationship is not really his priority. Most likely, he's just quite involved in his work life. That being said, Aquarius does want his freedom, and the Piscean urge to merge may scare him off. Aquarius celebrates the individual, whereas Pisces is about the dissolution of the individual. It's "I am unique" versus "We are all One." This is not to say that a relationship between an Aquarius and a Pisces cannot work, but it helps to have other planetary aspects between your charts to enhance compatibility.

You wrote your question the day after Uranus stationed direct in Pisces. (When a planet stations, it apparently stops its movement in the sky to move in the opposite direction.) The planet of unpredictability and awakening was conjunct your Sun earlier this year, in your Fifth House of Romance. Uranus moved backwards to within a degree of your Sun over the weekend, again stimulating your Fifth House, as well as issues around men, since the Sun rules important males in your life. Your love life is supposed to be unpredictable at this time!

Although Aquarius is not prominent in your natal chart, Uranus rules this independent sign, and when this planet aspects the Sun, it is not uncommon to encounter Aquarian men. Now that Uranus is moving forward again, either something will happen because this electric energy is no longer dormant, or you may just lose interest because Uranus is no longer aspecting your Sun.

Your Seventh House of Partnership has Taurus on its cusp, as well as Mars in Taurus. This house signifies the other person. It's likely that most guys you're interested in will be slow to act, so you'll need to be patient, especially since your Venus in Aries wants a relationship now. If you're really into this Aquarius man, it may be worthwhile to trust his sincerity and wait to see what happens in the New Year.

Aquarius woman is puzzled by Pisces boyfriend

Miss Anxious Aquarius provided a birth time (click chart to view) and also asked her question in the Love Advice section of the forum. She writes,
I have been going out with my Pisces boyfriend for nearly 7 months now. Lately, I can't get him to communicate. I tried being gentle and calm and appealing to his emotions but it's not working.

After a whole night of fighting he told me that he is not getting any younger and he needs 'space' to think. He knows he wants me and he is the luckiest man to have to me but right now he is scared of commitment. He also wants to test me to see if I'm the one for him.

He's confusing me, making me feel anxious, I told him to take all the time he needs and that I'm here. What is going on? What's with the temper? What's with the space? What's with the Pisces? What's with me?
Lucia G. has already offered some insight into your Pisces boyfriend's chart and how to approach the relationship. I'm going to write a bit about "timing." On September 26, the Aries Full Moon exactly conjoined your natal Venus in Aries. Venus is the planet of love and relationship, but it is even more significant in your chart. You have Taurus on your Descendant (or Seventh House cusp), which means you seek security and stability in your relationships. Venus is the ruler of Taurus, so it signifies your partner ... and it also sits in your Fifth House of Romance. During an Aries Full Moon, the spotlight shines on one's personal needs (in opposition to the needs of a relationship). One's own impulses take precedence, and inevitably there is a conflict, because meeting these needs requires one to compromise less in one's relationship. This Full Moon may have stimulated your boyfriend's antsiness. "All of a sudden, he wants to accomplish things, constantly wanting to stay home, not talking about his feelings, his temper is short, I can't get him to communicate." Other than the staying home part, this behavior sounds pretty Aries-like.

In the forum discussion thread, you gave his birth time. As Lucia G. mentioned, he has Mars in Aries in his Seventh House. He can be very direct and assertive about meeting his needs in a relationship, and yet he's also got a lot of wishy-washy energy, with Libra Rising and Sun square Neptune. A few weeks after the Full Moon, the Libra New Moon on October 11 opposed his Mars from his First House of Individual Needs. (Mars is also the ruler of his Seventh House, with Aries on the cusp). This highlighted the tension between his need to please you versus his need to do what he wants to do. (Or maybe he feels overpowered by your direct expression of your needs, as his Mars symbolizes his partner.)

Aries is not the most commitment-friendly sign, as it does not want to be held back from acting on its desires, however they may impact others. These recent lunations have been activating the Aries love/sex planets in both of your charts.

Pluto shakes up your boyfriend's entire sense of self (Sun) over the next year, and will make a 90-degree square to his Seventh House cusp early 2009. He's going through the wringer, and much of his orientation towards home, family and relationships will be torn down in order to be rebuilt on a more authentic level. Only time will tell if your relationship survives this restructuring.

Why do some Aquarius women cheat?

aquariusAn Aquarius wants the unfettered right to do what she pleases. Government and religious institutions only serve to squash her freedoms, and they must be overthrown! Down with the morality police!

Face it -- rules are made to be broken, and who better to flout the laws of God than an Aquarius? If she wants to lay down with her neighbor's wife, she'll do it! Independence means more than being able to move out of your parents' house and pay your rent. It's about expressing yourself in spite of society's rigid constraints.

As for the cuckold
, well he ought to be liberated enough to be beyond antiquated notions of fidelity. Faithfulness is not about submitting only to your husband's sexual desires. It's about being true to your unique erotic impulses. To do otherwise is to court death, to be a caged bird yearning to explore the expanses of the heavens.

In a truly egalitarian society, we'd be able to sleep with whomever we want (consensually, of course). Is it any wonder that the dawning of the Age of Aquarius coincided with the Free Love movement? There are so many sexual opportunities in life! There's nothing wrong with shacking up with one person, but why does the "couple" label have to have so many shackles?

How to get an Aquarius to have sex

aquariusDo you have a thing for freaks and geeks, aliens and astrophysicists, radicals and rabble-rousers? These surefire quotes and suggestions will be guaranteed to get you in bed with an Aquarius.
  1. "Love-making will enhance bonhomie among the revolutionaries."
  2. "Help me act out this scene in my latest Star Trek fan fiction story."
  3. Show him your pierced lips. No, those lips.
  4. "Friends With Benefits are just friends, nothing more!"
  5. Tell him you need someone impartial and objective to help you reach orgasm. Show him the step-by-step diagrams in your Clinical Sexology textbook.
  6. Share your fetish for doing it in pubic places while dressed like a panda bear.
  7. Face it -- he's more likely to do it in Second Life.

How to Break Up With an Air Sign (part 3 of the Breaking Up Series)

This post was written by Jara aka BlahBlah, who writes for 'Seduction Central' on Saturdays. (Thanks, Jeff!)

Disclaimer: This blog entry is for humorous and educational purposes only. Adhere to the following advice at your own risk.

Ah, air signs. So breezy. So much fun. So deceptively low maintenance. Who would want to break up with one? If the answer to that question is you, then you're in luck. Here's an easy-breezy guide to how to get out of your relationship with a gregarious Gemini, likeable Libra or abstract Aquarius.

The Breakup Strategy

Geminis are probably the most difficult of the three air signs to break up with because you are in a relationship with (at least) two people who happen to have the same face. Yes, the Twins are a handful. You probably fell in love with the charming twin. The Charmer is the smooth talker that always manages to say the right thing at the right time. You've tried to break up with Gemini before, but The Charmer kept you coming back for more. The other twin makes you remember why you wanted to end the relationship in the first place. Let's call this one The Actor. The Actor will try on different moods to provoke a certain response out of his audience (in this case, you). Why? Purely for entertainment purposes. The difficulty in breaking up with Gemini comes in if you're not prepared to handle both of the Twins at the same time (either one can appear and disappear at will). Don't try to break up with The Charmer by having a two-way conversation.
This twin will just talk you out of your decision. Send a quick "we're over" text message or email. The Charmer will appreciate the brevity and try to contact you. Don't pick up the phone, answer the door or respond to any written communications. After two weeks, The Charmer will have moved on to someone or something else. Leaving The Actor is harder because this twin has a seemingly endless amount of scripts to choose from. This one will enjoy the drama of the breakup and milk it for all it's worth. When you're emotional, he acts like he couldn't care less. When you're distant, he's passionate. And so on...The Actor has more stamina than The Charmer. Expect to hear back from him for a long time after the official breakup.

Breaking up with Libra is relatively easy. Make the breakup as pleasant as possible. This sign does not handle anger well at all, and can be very unpredictable when agitated. For example, Libra could snap and start smashing plates, only to act as if nothing out of the ordinary happened 10 seconds later. In other words, don't get Libra upset. The best way to keep Libra in a pleasant mood is to create a beautiful atmosphere for the breakup. Take Libra to his or her favorite restaurant (public places are great for keeping Libra's anger in check because they don't like making scenes). Keep the enjoyable conversation flowing (helps set up the sneak attack later). Casually mention your solo future plans. Libra will notice the lack of "we" in your plans and ask you about it. Use this as your opener to discuss why you think it's best for both of you to explore other opportunities for happiness (don't worry, Libra understands euphemisms).
Resist suggestions to go to couples counseling. Don't answer the "What can I do to make things better?" question Libra is surely to ask. Whatever you do, don't blame Libra. This will make Libra defensive and start a passive-aggressive, never-ending (although reasonable) debate that you have no chance in hell of winning (unless you're a Gemini). Remember to tell Libra that you have no hard feelings and would like to remain friends (regardless of whether this is true or not). If you don't care to take this long route down Breakup Blvd., then simply forget your manners at all times and/or introduce Libra to her dream date. She'll thank you in the future by sending you an invitation to their wedding.

There are two types of Aquarians. The optimal breakup strategy differs according to which Aquarian you're trying to dump. There's the Aquarian ruled by Saturn (keywords: structure, convention) that is now used to being in a relationship and will resist change. Then there's the more widely known version of Aquarius ruled by Uranus (keywords: free-thinking, unconventional) that already has one foot out the door. Obviously, the latter doesn't require much convincing to accept his walking papers. Tell him it's been fun, but you've outgrown the relationship. However, the Saturn-ruled Aquarius...now that's another story. She will hate that she's emotionally dependent on you, but will still try to hold onto the relationship. Be prepared to watch the inner battle Aquarius wages with himself over this contradiction. Contrary to popular belief, Aquarians don't dislike being in relationships. They dislike being in confining relationships. Paradoxically, if you allowed them their freedom to come and go as they please, they will not give up the relationship without a fight. After all, Aquarius is a fixed sign and can be very stubborn. The easiest way to get an Aquarius to let go is to start restricting freedoms (think prison guard), become a professional nagger (think PMS-ing Mommy), and take every opportunity to treat others as if they're beneath you (think royalty). Remember to maintain a holier than thou attitude while fighting to keep the status quo of inequality for all, and you won't have to worry about spending your Saturdays participating in another peace protest or recycle program against your will ever again.

The Ex-Files

Geminis can be the exes from heaven or hell. It really depends on what you liked most about them. If you enjoyed their stimulating company and all the funny jokes they cracked, you'll have a friend for life. If you expected to have a white, picket-fence house, 2.5 kids, and a dog named Skippy with your Gemini, then the relationship probably left a bitter aftertaste in both of your mouths. Regardless of whether things ended on good or bad terms, prepare to be bad-mouthed whenever someone asks Gemini why things didn't work out between you two.
File for full custody of the children.

You're probably still a bit in love with your Libra ex. That's OK. It happens to the best of us. Why does this happen? Well, Libra probably spent most of the time being (or trying to be) your ideal mate, so it's hard to let go of that fantasy. And it doesn't help matters that she still flirts with you as if it's your first date. Libra will probably work out a fair custody agreement re: the children. Don't expect to be the favorite parent.

If you're a fire or air sign, you're still good friends with your Aquarius ex - meaning you speak to him every several months or so to play catch up. If you're a water or earth sign, you're wondering why you feel as if you were temporarily abducted by aliens. Aquarius will want to be on good terms with you, but you won't understand why.

How did your relationship with a Gemini, Libra or Aquarius end? Did the end of your relationship with an air sign leave you windswept or walking on clouds?

The worst way to break up with Aquarius

aquariusFriendship can be more important to the Aquarius man than romance, so a breakup ending with, "And I never want to see you again!" can be particularly hard on the Water Bearer. And, although "Let's stay friends" can be the salt on a wound to many others, the Aquarian will say, "Coolio!"

You see, the Aquarius man isn't going to be as devastated by the ending of a relationship as those born under some other signs, so maintaining a friendship isn't as painful for him. He's not going to be jealous when you talk to other guys. He's not going to pine for you and sing love ballads from outside your window.

As much as the Aquarian needs distance, he doesn't want you cut off from his community. Speaking of which ... another bad way of breaking up with an Aquarius is by creating subdivisions among his circle of friends. This egalitarian sign isn't all too keen on group rifts, so don't spread malicious half-truths or try to get the majority of your mutual friends to take sides with you. They ought to (according to Aquarius) be able to view the breakup with some perspective, respect the reasons for the demise of the relationship, and not get all emotional about it! It's not like they slept with him -- you did! -- so why should they be all that invested?

Can't we all just get along?

Aquarius woman wants Capricorn man back

Nicki provided a birth time (click chart to view) and writes,
hes got a moon in gemini. mars in taurus. venus in capricorn.

me- i have a moon in aries, mars in aries, venus in saggitarius.

He broke up with me yesterday and then he said he needed some "mental clarity" and then he wanted to call me back in a couple of days. I dont think I need to answer the phone if he calls. . He knows I don't:
1. I'm NEVER friends with exes. (he knows that)
2. I'm NEVER friends with benefits with an ex

said ok to be polite but im trying to figure out what would be the point as he knows i dont believe in friends with exes. So why would he want to call me? i havent decided yet if im gonna pick up if he does but im curious to get others opinions. Thanks! he gave me 2 reasons really. not a BUNCH sorry lol

honestly to me whats the point. he said he needed "mental clarity". i feel like he couldve gotten mental clarity with a break, not a break up. he never actually came out and said it. i had to ask him if i was single. then he got snappy and was like yea do whatever you want.

How do I get him back?
This guy didn't break up with you -- he just said he wanted time to think for a few days, and then he'd get back to you. In your Aries Moon/Mars/Asc impulsivity, you essential cut him off at the pass. You tried to clarify your relationship status, and he responded defensively.

Now you are wondering if you should even pick up the phone, because you're never friends with exes. With an Eleventh House Aquarius Sun, friends must be very important to you. Yet the combination of your Aquarian inflexibility with a square from all-or-nothing Pluto in your Seventh House of Relationships results in rigid boundaries. No doubt the Plutonic realm in relationships (jealousy, possessiveness) can feel threatening, but ruling out friendship with former lovers only protects you from growing up. In addition, having decided not to be friends with someone who just needs some time off removes the possibility of dialogue with this Capricorn man.

If you want to get him back, don't be so darn stubborn.

Are Leo and Aquarius compatible?

rcenigma provided a birth time (click chart to view) and writes,
I am a Leo and I am attracted to an Aquarius. I want to know if we are compatible.
Signs that are opposite in the zodiac are naturally attracted to each other, because they balance each other out. The attention-seeking, generous and warm Leo is kept in check by Aquarius, the detached observer who offers his or her critique of Leo's performance with little regard for the lion's pride. Friendly but cool Aquarius is drawn to the fire and splendor of the king or queen of the zodiac. However, oppositions also imply friction. Leo's over-the-top displays of affection can be a wee too much for the water bearer, while the Aquarian's intellectual immersion in the sciences boggles the lion, who just wants to go out and play.

You were born during a Full Moon with your Moon in Aquarius, so this conflict between Leo and Aquarius should be familiar to you. Your own emotional detachment contradicts your solar magnificence. However, in synastry -- or chart comparison -- your Moon in the same sign as your Aquarian love interest's Sun bodes well for compatibility. In addition, your Sun is in the Eleventh House of Friends, Groups and Humanitarian Causes, which is naturally associated with Aquarius. Although you will always feel the tension between these signs in your own life, an Aquarian would suit you well.

Aquarius woman put off by Gemini man's romantic overtures

Dave [yes, finally a guy!] provided his birth time (click chart to view) and writes,
I'm in love with a woman that is an Aquarius, moon in aquarius, mars in aries, venus in aquarius, Aquarius rising and Mercury in Capricorn. When we first met I was cold and distant and she seemed to like it. About 3 months ago I started acting more romantic and it seems like she is put off by it. She has alot of stress in her life right now but she keeps pushing me away in a sense especially the nicer I am to her. Should I just go back to being cool, cold and distant with her?
As long as you stayed with the expression of your Gemini Sun and Aquarius Moon, your Aquarius woman was at ease, for there is little emotional depth to these air signs. However, the warmth of your Mars and Ascendant in Leo, as well as the sentimentality of your Venus in Cancer, apparently scares her away. She is a super-Aquarius, with an independent Mars and a pragmatic Mercury. With no personal planets in water, emotions are unfamiliar territory to her. She may not know how to navigate that realm.

I would hate to advocate for being cool, cold and distant. With Aquarius Rising, she has Leo on her Descendant, and would be attracted to your fire to balance her more detached nature. Her Venus opposite your Mars (by sign) could make for passionate lovemaking, once her need for independence weakens in the face of your dramatic expressions of desire.

Moreso, what kind of relationship can fluorish in such an icy climate? You love her, and it must be unbearable to suppress your romantic nature just to keep her from pushing you away. You want her closer than she is when you are cold and distant, yet by expressing your desire, she withdraws. Can you be happy holding yourself back so that she stays, when your longing for emotional intimacy remains unsatisfied?

I feel for you, and unfortunately I do not know how you can overcome this dilemma. Perhaps one of my readers can offer a suggestion in the comments section.

Can a watery Gemini woman and an Aquarius man last as a couple?

geminiaquariusAquamarine writes:
Dear Jeffrey,

Along your various posts, you 've seemed to consider that Aquarius & Gemini, if not star-crossed, are not altogether a match made in heaven. I'm a Gemini woman with Cancer rising, a Scorpio moon, and Venus in 1st House and conjunct Cancer, if that's any help... I've just started a relationship with an Aqua guy: conversation rocks even if we often agree to disagreee, sex is great although I'd like him to be more of a lingerer before serious stuff begins, the only thing is I find him way too detached, as he would be; but I've also read somewhere that a gemini with cancer rising is all an aquarius man needs, what with her gentle yet relentless energy to support and stabilize him.

I'd be super grateful to hear your take on all this. Do you think we could last as a couple, starwise of course?
I don't recall stating that Aquarius and Gemini are star-crossed. In fact, these air signs get along well. Unfortunately, you're water-heavy, which does not fit well with Aquarius. With your Moon in Scorpio and a first-house Venus in Cancer, you are focused on intimacy. Someone with Venus close to the Ascendant looks to her environment with an eye for beauty and love, and this goddess' placement in Cancer adds a romantic, sentimental touch. A far cry from cold, detached Aquarius, if you ask me.

Additionally, with the Moon in Scorpio, you delve deeply into the world of emotions, and feel most secure when you are intensely intimate with another. Another Aquarius repellent. So although your chatty Gemini Sun connects intellectually with the Water Bearer, many of your important chart factors clash with this distant sign. Unless he, too, has some water in his chart to orient him towards closeness, he may be put off by all the lovey-doveyness of your Venus.

Is an Aquarius man / Capricorn woman match a no-go for longevity?

capricornaquarius
I am a Cap woman with Cancer moon. Cap mercury and Cap mars, Sag venus.

My love interest is an Aquarius man , Aquarius mercury and Aquarius mars, and Sag venus. The thing is he can either be an Aquarius or Pisces moon. Not sure if he's an evening birth.

If not longevity, what can [one] expect from this coupling?
Capricorn and Aquarius do not good bedfellows make. You may be a woman, but you represent The Man: authority, restrictions, rules. For Aquarius, rules are made to be broken. Your love interest is a revolutionary, not a suit-and-tie.

If you're of the Uranus-in-Libra generation (circa 1968-1975), the ruler of Aquarius may be squaring some or all of your Capricorn/Cancer planets. This aspect would give you an Uranian vibe to counteract your more conservative CapCance nature. You would have your own internal conflict between the need to be unconventional versus the need to strive towards material success. How else could one explain your attraction to the Water Bearer?

In general, any two consecutive signs in the zodiac are as different as can be. They share neither element nor quality. There is scant likelihood of compatibility unless there are other chart factors to account for the attraction. If you're not Uranian, then your Aquarius must be Saturnian, familiar with the heaviness of your Sun sign.

The good news? Both of you are adventurous in love (with Venus in Sag), so ski trips and flights to Burma may keep the fire burning bright, as long as your dry disposition doesn't extinguish the flame.

Why Aquarius loves Libra women

aquariuslibraAquarius doesn't know how to "do" relationships, so who better than Libra, the expert on partnerships, to guide him? The sign of the scales is ruled by Venus, goddess of love. She knows how to navigate the rocky territory of coupledom, using charm, compromise and all manner of secret techniques.

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus. This outer planet is more comfortable at Star Trek conventions than blind dates sipping on mochas. Uranus is all ideas. Libra can connect to him on the mental plane without losing her human touch. Both are air signs, expressing themselves best in the social and intellectual realms. Libra may not be a space alien like Aquarius, but she can tune into his wavelength enough to decode his transmissions.

Why not Gemini women? Although Gemini is also an air sign, it is ruled by Mercury, planet of communication. Uranus is a "higher octave" of the messenger planet. Put together two thinkers and you'll have some good discussions, but not much incentive to make the connection physical. Some goddess energy is required to take Aquarius out of the clouds and into the bedroom.

Which sign falls in love easily with Sagittarius and Aquarius?

sagittariusaquariusLet's play the "process of elimination" game:
  • Discard all earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) and water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) signs, because they're all discordant with air (Aquarius) and fire (Sagittarius).
  • Discard Gemini and Leo. Gemini opposes Sagittarius, and Leo opposes Aquarius. Opposites may attract, but who needs the stress? As April Elliott Kent writes about opposite signs, "spending time with someone whose approach to life is completely opposite your own can be draining, ... and eventually your relationship battery will need to be recharged."
  • That leaves us with Aries and Libra. Both make supportive angles (sextile and trine) to Sagittarius and Aquarius. There's mucho compatibility, and little friction.
  • Who falls in love more easily? Libra, of course. Not that fiery Aries is incapable of love -- far from it. But Libra is the love sign, ruled by relationship goddess Venus and associated with the 7th House of Marriage.
Love is not this logical, of course. If you fall for the Archer and Water Bearer and are not a Libra, comment below.

Is a Sagittarius woman or a Pisces woman better for an Aquarius man?

sagittariusaquariuspiscesThe Aquarian man needs an outgoing woman, and preferably one who can challenge his mind. The Archer, in addition to sharing Aquarius' need for freedom, is at heart a philosopher. Ruled by expansive Jupiter, the Sagittarian woman loves to explore -- geographically, academically, theologically. An inspirational fire sign, she uses her pulpit to convert her congregation to some pretty high falootin' idears. And who loves idears more than Aquarius? Aquarius breathes thought, being the airiest of the air signs. If grand theories about the nature of the universe could be served in liquid form, he'd be hanging out by the bar, waiting for the Sag woman of his dreams to engage him in Socratic dialogues.

Although the Pisces woman likes to drink, she imbibes one part dreams and two parts music, nursing a concoction so hazy that no bartender knows how to mix it. Philosophies and theories don't make her mouth water -- rather, visions of losing herself in oceanic bliss-states are her sustenance. How could an Aquarius man possibly connect with a woman whose mind goes beyond even the most abstract of equations, who creates images irreducible to algebraic formulas? He is more at home with a woman who revels in the diversity of opinions, beliefs and cultures, swallowing knowledge as if it were the only brew that could quench her thirst.

Why is Leo attracted to Aquarius?

aquariusleoA Leo woman asks:
Is it possible to have a relationship with someone with a heavy Aquarian emphasis in his chart or is it a lost cause? I have no planets in Aquarius at all but I seem to be attracted to them for reasons that I can't fathom. Maybe it's that Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Libra? I don't know. Is it bc I'm a Leo Sun? I don't know but either way, that's my question.
Zodiac opposites attract for a good reason. Each axis contains two complementary signs that really can't function without the other.

Aries - Libra Me - You
Taurus - Scorpio My Money - Our Money
Gemini - Sagittarius Facts - Theories
Cancer - Capricorn Home - Work
Leo - Aquarius Performer - Audience (or Individual - Group)
Virgo - Pisces Organized Ritual - Mystical Letting Go

Leo needs a detached viewer to objectively critique her performance. Who else but Aquarius can do that? (I said critique, not criticize, Virgo!)

Your attraction is due to your Leo Sun, not your Uranus-Jupiter conjunction in Libra. This conjunction can last nearly a year -- it's not specific to Leos -- and concerns your need to experience expansion, meaning, revolution and independence in relationships.

In your chart, Saturn -- the ruler of your 7th House of Partnership (with Capricorn on the cusp) -- is in your 11th House of Friends and Groups. The 11th House has a natural affinity with Aquarius. This area of your life is bound with your partnership needs; for example, you might find a future husband in a humanitarian group with which you are involved. And who is more likely to spend time in these endeavors than Aquarians? Hence, this is another factor in your chart that may explain your attraction to the sign of the Water Bearer.

Is someone with a heavy Aquarian emphasis a lost cause? Not necessarily -- you just need to give him lots of independence and not expect much in the way of emotional availability.

What does an Aquarian girl got to do to get her Cancer man back?

aquariuscancerAn Aquarius writes about her Cancer man:
He trusted me so much and used to share all his personal stuff with me. He was a little open to his female friends, and I felt insecure about that. I felt that he was cheating on me. I ended up crying before his friends, and ended up telling them our personal things. Not once but twice I did so, and broke his trust. Now he is so angry with me. He told me he can't forgive me so easily. So we will remain friends from now on. I really love him and want him back so badly. I feel very bad for what I have done. How can I get him back? [edited for clarity]
Dear Aquarius,

Two things you must understand:

1) Cancer is ruled by the Moon, and the Moon symbolizes women. A Cancer man feels comfortable with female friends, and he is unlikely to cheat on you with them, because he is so focused on emotional security and the importance of family values. (Or, do you feel he was emotionally unfaithful to you? He's look for caring and comfort from his friends -- not charged intimacy that is all but consummated.)

2) He was a little open with his female friends because, once again, security is paramount to Cancer. He needs to feel safe if he is going to expose his soft underbelly. Obviously, he trusted you enough to share his innermost secrets. To then have them spilled can feel like a massive betrayal, so he has now retreated into his shell. Your Cancer ex will continue a friendship with you, but you won't easily get past his defenses this time.

If you want him back, you will have to be patient. He will occasionally retreat from his bunker to see if the coast is clear, and you will have to prove over and over that you're friendly territory. Perhaps state secrets are not so important to collective-minded Aquarius, but Cancer is more likely to feel vulnerable than the Water Bearer when classified information is released to the public.

Aquarius Pisces mismatch

aquariuspiscesThe two final signs of the zodiac, both Aquarius and Pisces are not really bound to earthly matters. Aquarius theorizes about the laws of the cosmos; Pisces fantasizes about worlds unborn. Aquarius can perceive future trends and conceive technologies that may not be embraced for years. Pisces creates fictions that cannot physically ex
