Pisces may lie, but Sagittarius stretches the truth
In the comments section of Sagittarius woman only needs Cancer man when she's lonely, many Sagittarians lambasted the poor Cancer guy with Pisces rising for lying to his Sag ex-girlfriend."You see we do always tell the truth (as we see it) for better or worse and we do appreciate the truth in the same way."Perhaps the truth as Sagittarius sees it is not the same as The Truth. This sign's ruling planet is Jupiter, the Expander and Exaggerator. When a fact doesn't support Sagittarius' worldview, philosophy or theory of everything, the Centaur may just choose to ignore it. After all, the Big Picture is more important than every little detail. And Sag may give some supporting pieces of information slightly more emphasis than others to make her point. Is stretching the truth less ethically questionable than outright lying? Sagittarius may not see it as a problem. But then again, Sag may not even be aware that she is leaving key points out of her version of the truth. Nor may she recognize when she is over-emphasizing a minor tidbit that makes her look better. And if she does know what she is doing ... well, surely there is a good reason for it.
Sagittarius governs higher education and universities, and there are numerous cases of professors or researchers who fudge the data to help get their scholarly articles into the most prestigious journals. In her arrogance and self-aggrandizement, Sag may prune a few trees to make the forest look better.

I have Sagittarius rising and Venus, Mars, Uranus and North Node in the 9th. I tend to be brief on the details if I see them as not of the essence to the point I try to make!:)
With Uranus in Scorpio on the MC, I'm a recurring, and, more often than not, innocent suspect (lol), and for this reason, I'm a good liar when I have to. (Haven't had to since my Saturn return, though. Am I finally blending in?:P).
With the Sun and Mercury rx in the 8th and Chiron in Taurus in the 3rd house, three is a crowd to my inner story-teller;) while at the same time Pluto on the 9th house cusp channels a soul given to some preaching, I'm afraid;)
My ex had Mercury conjunct Neptune in Sagittarius in the 3rd house. He would not exactly tell any tall tales; rather, he would often omit crucial details and so left me in the dark very effectively. This was extremely annoying in the long run, because it was nearly impossible to tell when he did it on purpose and when he was just being absent-minded...;)
I know someone with 5(!!!) planets in Pisces who does exactly the same thing...

You see this is where communication gets interesting. I left a comment - the first one you put in quotes Jeffrey and for the record I wasn't lambasting anyone. It's all in the way you interpret it and that wasn't the way I was giving it out.

yes i do know about saggitarius telling tales, I was married to one for many years. He was so convincing that what he said was right,he was a master of the mind games and twisted my brain. Then I dated one for 3 years, same again, he convinced me he was honest, while he 2 and 3 timed me, but what he was doing was so right....My daughter is also saggitarian, and she has convinced herself that I never loved her ,,twisted her own mind and that breaks my heart. So I avoid the species......
Ive Known Sags to exaggerate to make a story better. Definitely.

I don't know whether to comment on our attack of the Cancer/Pisces guy, or this post.
I am guessing we Sag people are getting our chops busted cause we got all riled up and started shooting arrows at people....so Jeffrey thinks we need to be punished?
Anyone ever seen the movie Big Fish? The way that story is told pretty much exemplifies what Jeffrey is getting at here.
Either way, we don't hurt anyone by making a story better, so long as we aren't intentionally deceiving. We are the sign that likes to entertain. It's hard not to do it. Me having a Pisces moon just sets me up for the double wammy, which has made me hyper-sensitive about the idea, as though lying is radiactive. I think my Sag plays dominatrix on my poor Pisces and makes her fess up too much :(
And if you wanna say bad stuff about Sag, don't forget we get bored of our mates easily and have affairs, can't seem to hold on to money to save our own life, and must make a painful conscious effort to acknowledge when we are hurting someone with our words. Oh, we are also self-righteous, highly-combustible, so sexually promiscuous that we could've spread aids all by ourselves if someone had asked us to.

When a Sagittarius exaggerates - There are only 20 people in the room at a (very small) party, but there are a few Leos in the room. Sagittarius is having the time of their lives. Brimming with happiness and laughter all the way with the Leos.
Next day Sagittarius is telling a friend and to put across the point of how they felt Sagittarius makes it into 50 people in the room. We definately exaggerate and I think it might be because we want to share the feeling with other people but one thing I notice when I exaggerate is I always retrace my story and say there were probably only 20 people in that room.
so Paul Bunyan must've been a Sagittarius, then
@Sagilarious, yes, Jupiter rules both Sag and Pisces ... interesting, isn't it? And I just couldn't resist busting on ya, after some of you started "shooting arrows" at poor Cancer with Pisces Rising.
Yeah, well we desereved it, I know. But it's hard being a Sag!!! We have an astrological job. That is why we come with the freakin' loaded quiver, straight outa the box. Just lemmie at that Cancer President of ours, then you will all be glad the rebel angel is also the one with arrows!
Also, the problem with criticizing a Sag is that we like the attention.
Still, it's good someone has the jones to give us a taste of our own medicine.

hehehehe, I see we just got busted. Being a Sag lady myself, I've gotta agree once again with Sagilarious. We're all that and then some :) To be honest though, I find the whole exaggeration thing more true of Sagittarian men rather than women.
They have the tendency to embellish their stories in order to entertain their audiences. Of course I've also known them to carry on several relationships at once, fibbing blatantly - albeit convincingly - all the while.
For myself I've gotta say that I avoid exaggeration, generally sticking to facts (mainly because I'm absent-minded and forget what I've said afterwards) and tend to lie only to cover my *ahem* indescretions or just to keep the status quo. Could be the Virgo rising, *sigh* my only saving grace.
