I have no planets in my Seventh House!

Fear not -- a lack of planets in your House of Partnership does not mean that you will never find a husband or wife. Many beginners commonly assume that an untenanted house has no action in it. But let's look at it logically: We all have 12 houses, and only 10 planets. Even if all your planets were evenly distributed throughout your chart, they couldn't inhabit each and every house.

When a planet is in a house, the planet expresses itself in the corresponding area of the person's life that the house represents. For example, if your Sun is in the Third, you will need to write, teach, chat, barter -- anything having to do with the transfer of information and goods. Regardless of the style of your Sun's expression (its sign), you will not be satisfied unless you communicate.

If you have a planet in the Seventh, you will have to meet that planet's corresponding need in a relationship (romantic, business, open enemy, and so on). In other words, you are dependent on another to fulfill that planet's impulse. So, if you have no planets in the Seventh, it simply means that being in a partnership is not essential to the expression of your planets.

However, there is still much information to be gained from an empty house. You need to look at the planetary ruler of the sign on your Seventh House cusp. In what sign and house does this planet reside? What aspects does the Seventh House ruler make to other planets? What planets aspect your Ascendant/Descendant?

I'm not sure I fully understand - I have Capricorn in my 7th house, so what does that mean?

@violetrix, Capricorn on your 7th means that you need structure and stability in your relationships, or that you're attracted to someone who's older or who is very serious about his/her professional growth. You would look at the position of Saturn for more information, because Saturn rules Capricorn.

Interesting. On my chart drawing it says I have nothing in my 7th, but I read elsewhere it is in gemini. I have no idea how they come up with planets that I dont see.

@scorp, There's a difference between planets and signs. Everyone has a sign on the cusp of their seventh house. Not everyone has a planet there.

Thank you for clearing that up.

Finally! Seventh House!

question: how does the sign in the 7th house and planet it resides in link up? for example, descendant in aries and 7th house in Jupiter (which has aries sitting in it)?

and so let's say someone has an empty house but a leo on the cusp of their seventh house, does that mean the person is more attracted to people with venus or ascendant leo?

Wow! I just realized I have no planet in my 7th.... I have Saturn in 6th. Does this make things better?

I have Venus in 7th. Still trying to figure out if that's a good or bad thing.
