Do Gemini women test their dates?
There's nothing worse than a bored Gemini. She's not going to stick around long if you can't keep her attention. And unlike her sister air sign Aquarius, she cannot maintain her focus on one idea for more than, say ... two seconds. (OK, I'm slightly exaggerating. Slightly.)She knows herself well enough to ditch any guy or gal who can't follow her mile-a-minute thought process. If you're on a first date with a Gemini, you may well be under close scrutiny -- she'll be testing you to see if you're interesting enough for more than one evening.
For starters ... if you're still thinking up a witty comment regarding the topic she discussed a minute ago, you're too late. If you're not on the ball, you're better off with a methodical Taurus than a speedy Gemini.
To Gemini, intelligence can mean thinking quickly on your feet. But a person born under this Mercury-ruled sign is also drawn to facts for their own sake. Think Jeopardy! Can you compete against her in a game of Trivial Pursuit? How many Wikipedia entries have you edited this month? If your mind is not a container of meaningless trivia, you may not be the man or woman for her.
Also, do you have anything interesting to say? Although she obviously requires a good listener, the Gemini woman thrives on learning new things and keeping up on the juiciest news. She'll value you for the latest gossip or a story that keeps her enthralled. If you can't cough up the goods, better to spend your time with a Capricorn.
The more sensual Gemini will inspect your hands, play with your fingers, trace the lines on your palm. God knows what she's looking for, but she's knows it when she sees it.

I have Venus in Gemini and this is dead on. Looks are not as important as scintillating conversation and a good speaking voice. And the hands are important too!
I have Mars and Mercury in Gemini... no intelectual chalenge - no nothing. And hands... I always do take a look, but I don't make conscience decisions based on them... but I do pick people with long, thin fingers.
bis says...
interesting, im a gemini that is more a slow bored taurus, so slow it was born late, but with wired nerves, an overanxious lunatic. im not really in the dating scene nao but anyway. i generally am far more taken by the quality and inflection of a voice and even grammar quirks rather than meanings of what is said necessarily. i am one for accents, a lot of the time i even think in a slight accent for myself i think it occupies the mind more when regular thoughts arent enough, and once in a blue moon sprinkle it into speech.
i do care about intelligence, both factual but mainly practical/political/street, in men especially but i take it for granted and dont like it to be a showpony thing, more like foundational for looks or charisma or what jenesaisquoi that stars the show.
maybe it comes down to that i couldnt personally quiz neone even if i wanted bc i feel like in english patient i like how juliette binoche puts it "i dont know anything". ta certo, she says it with good tone and inflection too. that is also why topic jumping is a good thing since i cant specialize it facilitates getting along lol. some ppl say superficial i say renaissance person.
i do like hands for sure. u want elegant but not fey.
I read this post to my Gemini Sun/Mercury mom who is not so into astrology and she laughed (score!), especially because she's addicted to Jeopardy. I always know a guy she's dating is about to be dumped if she says he's boring. Funny you mention Capricorns. She gets along well with Capricorns that have Aquarius personal planets.
I have Venus, Mars, Descendant in Gemini. I'm attracted to men who have both street and book smarts, are multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and can adapt quickly to any situation. If he can manipulate language (coin clever phrases, for example), that's a plus, too. Oh, and if he can flirt without immediately acting on it, I'm in love! Verbal foreplay is a true art form.
The biggest turn-off for me in a man is stupidity and speaking in a slow, monotonous voice. If his voice has a nice tone to it, then maybe I can ignore the slowness. I dated a Gemini guy with Mercury in Taurus. That was nice. :)
As for the fingers, so..on..point. I've always had a fascination with a man's fingers. Long, slender piano-playing fingers are the best. I like to hold hands, play with fingers, give/receive hand massages. And I've found in my amateurish research that you can tell a lot by looking at a man's hands, if you know what I mean. 0:)
And I can tell if I want to date a guy within 5 minutes of our first phone conversation. If we don't have the same sense of humor or he's boring me on the phone, there's no first date.
Oh hell yeah! I read the post, and nearly died laughing. If you'd like to see why, click here: http://microsofty.blogspot.com/2007/09/enter-propositions-here-haha.html
This my ONLINE SURVEY. They won't even grab my attention without it, never mind the phone!
Wow I must say that this description of a Gemini woman fits me very well. I literally laughed out loud when I read the last paragraph regarding our fascination with men's hands and fingers! That is so me! I always grab a man's hands and examine them looking for something in particular!!!!! Especially long fingers!!!
Oh yes, the hands of a man! Those hands . . .
Hands are ever so sexy. A man's hands, large, strong, square, in control. With a manly stately signet ring to set off the magic, or a bulky watch to draw attention to, yes, those hands!
If they can skillfully play an instrument, so much the better. If they can thoughtfully move a pen across the page, oh! If they can cup a woman's face and pull her close, what bliss is this!
So why are they always so concerned about their dicks already (sigh)
Ha ha ha! This is so true. I'm a gemini and several people think I have A.D.D., when in reality people just don't know how to keep up with my mentality.
