I like being wrong (sometimes)
I have been fascinated with the comments on What happens to a Sagittarius woman after she gets hurt? It never occurred to me that a Sag would feel heartbroken as a result of her optimistic view of human nature being tarnished.
Some zodiac signs are foreign countries, and others are neighborhoods I frequent daily. I observe neighboring cities in my vicinity, and am more familiar with the vibe on their streets than I am with those with which I have little contact. All I can do is read about them, and try to understand their strange cultures.
Therefore, I sometimes write from a purely theoretical perspective, and it is exciting to have exchange students visit me and share their customs and mores. They teach me, and hopefully -- by trying out their spicy dishes and putting on their soft fabrics -- I can develop a greater facility in writing about their lives.

Nice "accidental tourist" metaphor, Jeffrey. ;)
Yes, Saggys has feelings, too. Surprise surprise. I've seen fire signs get their hearts broken a lot, actually (and they tend to think their pain is more painful than anyone else's). Water signs get a lot of publicity for being the sensitive signs of the zodiac, but I think the fire signs are extremely sensitive as well.
It makes sense in a weird way. The more optimistic one is, the more crushing the disappointment feels when disillusionment sets in. It's like coming down from a huge high of expectation. While fire signs may recover faster (theoretically), the pain of heartbreak is just as hard as it is for a mushy, lovey dovey water sign.
I had an epiphany recently about why I feel so jaded and cynical now about love. While my first instinct is to be cautious about trusting and opening myself up to people, I'm always putting my faith in things working out better NEXT TIME so I just jump in feet first (despite all the warning signs against doing so). Being a Sag rising, it's hard for me NOT to be optimistic and keep from rushing into something new before my more cautious side has truly healed (and oh how Scorpio moon and Virgo saturn love saying "I told you so" to Sag rising).
Maybe Sag suns work the same way. Putting faith into something that doesn't work out is very disheartening. If you look for, and believe in, the best in people, then how sad is it to have your faith tested over and over again to the point where you just stop believing in people? It can be as devastating as losing faith in a belief system.
Oops, "Saggys have feelings, too..."
