Are Libras unfaithful?

I have known a few Moon-in-Libra folks and they often do have more than one love affair going on.

Granted, I don't have any personal planets in Libra, so this sign is somewhat alien to me. But conceptually, Libran infidelity doesn't make sense. Yes, they're flirtatious, but among the air signs, Libra would be the least likely to cheat. Aquarius is the sign of independence, and Gemini is the sign of "twos," needing variety to keep stimulated. Libra is just so focused on partnership -- why would they be unfaithful?
Perhaps indecision would be one culprit. Libra may be torn between two (or more) lovers, because they're constantly balancing each person's virtues and faults.
Libra is ruled by Venus, whose counterpart is Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. Aphrodite frequently cheated on her hubby, Hephaestus. If you are a Libra, the sign placement of your Venus will be especially significant. Due to its proximity to the Sun, Venus can only be within two signs of either side of Libra, so that would mean Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius. Venus in Sag would be prone to play the field.
I also suspect that the outer planets may have something to do with this reputation. Boomers born between 1943 and 1956 have Neptune in Libra, and people born between 1968 and 1975 have Uranus in Libra. Any Libras born during either of these periods are likely (using a 10 degree orb for a conjuction to one's Sun) to have their basic nature influenced by either of these powerful planets.
Victoria Bazeley again writes,
afflictions to Neptune in Libra (affecting the generation now in its 50s) have proven to be problematic in a number of cases. (Libra is the sign of marriage, so this is a blending of the symbols for deception and marriage!)And people with Uranus-Sun conjuctions need their share of freedom, not to mention the fact that Uranus in Libra breaks down the conventions of marriage.
Anyone with a Moon in Libra who was born during these two periods will likely have a Moon-Neptune or Moon-Uranus conjunction, which correspond, respectively, with poor boundaries or a need for independence in relationships.
I'm not convinced Libra deserves this bad rap, but I'm open to your comments below. My Aquarian Moon wants some logical explanations, though.

As far as my moon in Libra and unfaithfulness...
I can tell you that I have been VERY fascinated by another while being in a relationship and I'm flirtatious. But I have never cheated, even when my the relationship was quite sour and on it's last legs. I draw the line at action. As a matter of fact I was open and told my partner at the time about my fascination. Why hide it if I'm not going to act on it?
I always thought everybody gets tempted while in a relationship? I mean we all have eyes and a sex drive? That doesn't mean you will want to act on those attractions.
Even if you do want to act on your attractions, you can choose restraint. That's why we have Saturn. It governs commitment, as well as the consequences of straying. KARMA.
By the way, Saturn is exalted in Libra.
I've never heard of that. But I have heard libras are notorious for lying. I dunno either way. I have only had one person in my life at one time who lied constantly that was a libra. But I dont think that has anything to do with him being a libra. I've known caps, scorps, piscies, aries, etc... to lie too. Its not exclusive to one sign I dont believe.

My husbands a Libra and he's been unfaithful. He's a Libra Sun and Asc , he has no aspects to Venus and his Venus is in Sag.....of coarse I'm assuming that not ALL Libras are unfaithful,but any I've known have been quite "social" and I beleive all but 1 had a tendency to stray.(That we know of.)

Can you give us a little window into the mind of an unfaithful woman, Libra? How do you manage to always find guys, btw? I have a hard time finding guys just like that. Or maybe it's just that when I'm truly interested in one guy, I find myself turned off anyone else.

Marly, I'm not a Libra, but I might be able to give you some insight into why anon 1:24 has the guys fighting over her. By dating/seeing so many guys at the same time, she's investing very little in each "relationship." Guys can sense this and will think of it as a challenge to win her over. They will view the other guys she's seeing as their competition (dividing her attention).
From her post, it sounds like she gets a thrill/ego boost out of watching guys fight over her. It probably makes her feel worthwhile somewhere deep down.
I have a friend who's a Libra female and she does the same thing. One time, a group of us went on a weekend trip to Lake Tahoe. We were all going to stay in her mom's condo. Out of the 10 people that went on the trip, THREE out of the give guys on the trip were her exes (the other two were her brother and my ex, so off-limits to her basically). Since she was the trip organizer, this was no surprise to her. I think some Libras like to set up drama so they can be entertained and/or mediate once everything erupts into chaos. By the way, she has Aquarius moon (loves to shock) and her venus AND mars are in Scorpio (love of drama, intensity, sorting through emotional undercurrents, etc.).

Hmmm...I wonder what is it about my chart that keeps me from being an unfaithful moon in libra? I am obviously in the minority here and I don't get it. Is it just because it's just my moon instead of my sun sign? On paper my libran moon combined with all my uranus aspects would make it seem that I WOULD be into more than one relationship at the same time but I honestly prefer a monogamous relationship. Could my sun in cancer be THAT much of a "taming" influence when the rest of my chart is stacked the other way?
Libra ASC and Libra Moon, here. I have never cheated, was cheated on, but never cheated. I have no desire to either, and as far as I can recall, have never had the desire to cheat. I have Uranus in Scorpio, not Libra and my moon is conjunct Pluto in Libra. Maybe that has to do with it.
EVERY Libra that I have known has a really hard time saying no to the opposite sex. It's like they love the ego boost so much that they can't resist cheating even if it hurts the person they are with. This applies to relationships as well (not necessarily a fling type of cheating) - like many have a hard time saying no to being in one. I once had a Libra room mate who was shuffling back & forth between being in serious relationships with the same SEVERAL guys for the whole year I lived with her. They all kept coming back to this charming and sweet but manipulative and deceitful girl no matter how many times she broke all their hearts. I can't relate at all. I'm a TOTALLY monogamous at heart and non-flirtatious.

I am a libra stellium with sun saturn conjunct. My mc is also in libra..
and in defense of planetary abundant libras, I am extremely faithful. As in, I am an idealist and only believe in monogamy (my saturn is exalted and the ruler of my asc) .

Hey, there some of us can't help but be serial monogamists. Some of us haven't been lucky enough to find one person with whom to stick for the rest of our lives. That doesn't make us cheaters or bad, for God's sake!! Sometimes people hook up with the wrong people --is it better to stick it out with someone who can actually be abusive? Be a little more flexible, there, buddy.

tflMy friend is a Libra sun, taurus moon, and virgo rising. She was born in 1969. She has always had two full time boyfriends as she says. sometimes she has two full time boyfriends and a "part time" boyfriend in another state. What interesting is that she is always fully committed to both guys, and very much in love with both, she just cant make up her mind. She is always honest and last year when her main boyfriend was having a going away party, the secondary boyfirend attended, although the two bfs didnt really socialize. I think its a very strange situation, especially because all of her main relationships through out her life have been in this arrangement. Sometimes I wonder if she just likes having two men totally committed to her, and to be the only woman in their lives; and ego thing...or if she is just someone who needs to love more than one person at a time. My boyfriend has a long history of infidelity in the relationship of his twenties and thirties, (taurus sun, taurus venus, leo asc, moon conjunct uranus in aquarius) However now he is forty two and says he has grown up alot since those days. He also swears he has never been unfaithful to me. I worry that he might be given his history, although his behavior is always the exact opposite of cheating. I too, like the other Libra ladies who have commented here, have had a hard time making up my mind...I haven't had a real relationship in six years. I find myself to be 'polyamorous' ...it's not a physical thing. But, I LOVE to LOVE...and I am able to fully love more than one man at once...
I find myself taking on the traits of a man when it comes to dating. For instance, if a man is needy, calls too much, becomes to predictable or takes any action that screams 'white picket fence'...I get scared and run for the hills. I wrote a song once called, 'I am not your forever girl'. The truth is I have NEVER cheated on a man while in a committed relationship.
I had a scorpio once catch me on that. We had been 'dating'. He went away on a business trip for months and never called. He came back and when I mentioned I had been seeing other men he was apolled and suggested I was unfaithful. I said, 'I've never cheated on anyone'...he said 'you've never Been with anyone long enough to cheat on them'.

Flashina, I can completely identify with your 1969 friend. I'm a libra as well, and find myself in the same situation.
As I look into my own actions, I am finding that if one man proves himself unable to satisfy 100% of my needs - physical, emotional, financial, spiritual, etc. I eventually will 'add' another to pick up the slack and then I can be happy.
It's not right, but when I look over my history of dating, I've only been faithful when the person I was with left nothing to desire, and even then I become bored and the relationship gets stale as far as I'm concerned.
Now, as a married woman, I can say that I was faithful until my husband started falling down on his 'promises and duties' and it became extremely easy for me to let another person in to pick up where my husband failed. It wasn't the sex department that suffered, but nonetheless I spent quite a bit of time with the mystery man who completed my circle of need.
With all that being said, I'd have to say that we Libras have to be smitten past the point of return before we can be 100% faithful. That's why some Libras in marriage work, and others dont. We are quick to find the good in people but 90% will never do with us, and you can expect 'cheating' or otherwise 'entertaining' on some level to fill the gap. Might not happen right away, and could take years to surface, but rest assured it will happen. That's just how we are.
I have sun, moon, and mars in Libra. I am very picky and believe I have standards which I don't feel that I need to lower for anyone (or else I would feel as if I'm betraying myself on the inside). my history of relationships aren't very long. you other libra women are making me scared for myself however *smile*. I have never been one to cheat and I don't suppose I ever will. Maybe it's my scorpio venus (or not) but first of all I won't enter into a relationship unless I'm 100% smitten with my lover, I also have to be sure that I posses them somewhat. One thing I can tell about Libras though: if u don't shower them with the kind of attention they want, they will lavish it on themselves or find someone else who will (can be through flirting for the ego boost...I would be most inclined to do that and others might straight out cheat).Libra women can sometimes have an appetite when it comes to sex and have no qualms about using it as just a casual release btw two bodies. I personally don't think monogamy is for everybody. And I think more people end up hurting themselves and others if they try to lie to themselves that it is.
The funny thing is that I have been in an open relationship and I KNOW that I prefer monogamy even with my Libra moon and Uranus aspects in my birthchart.
It HAS to be my Cancer sun as someone mentioned. Cancers like stability. So while I may be very picky, when I commit I mean it.

I've read all these blogs about Libra's being unfaithful, and it is so true. Let me give you a brief synopsis on my own accounts.
I had an affair with a Libra (very charming) thought he was the one for me. He moved out of state months later for me to find out he was married, never divorced, and never heard from him again.
Recently I had a romantic encounter with another Libra, almost same circumstance to the T. He's still married, then lost interest in me and found love on someone from my space, which i'm heartbroken and betrayed. I've never had so much bad luck with Libra's in all my life. They all seem to be the same. By the way i've been with a Capricorn for 10 years, and i'm a virgo. What's up with all this. Need an explanation! I don't stand for affairs or hopping from one guy to another.
well as for me i am leo, my guy is a libra. even though he's inlove with me.. well he's always attracted to another woman.. i would say he's unfaithful but almost cheated or he cheated already. that from there, i became unfaithful to him. since he broke my trust already. i would say even libras are madly inlove they would still cheat over and over again. they are very sociable and friendly. but im a leo and will not allow him to fool me. yes capricorns are nice people to have. but the best zodiac for me is leo because ive seen myself 3 leos are my friends and when they fall inlove it's always one. that's includes me, its just that i found out him cheating after all the things i gave and did for him. whew!

Wow, dump your Libra! Don't stand for that. In my personal experience, Libra's have done nothing but break my heart. Me being a Virgo and all, we don't stand for that at all and are very faithful. I'm trying to patch things up with my Capricorn, but there will be a 50/50 shot. Should of never left him in the first place. Guess my advice is be with the sign you're most compatible with.

well...ouch. i am a libra woman and i have something to say about all of this.
1) libra guys are shmucks. i have never been in a relationship with one and i am very impressed by women who can take them seriously and stick it out for the long haul.
2) as a libra female, yes, i am guilty of having several guys around me at all times. but i am also single. if i were in a committed relationship, i would not cheat. in fact, i would probably put up with 95% of their shit. my pisces moon is very conducive to this as well. which is where my virgo venus comes in: i make sure they pass all of my tests before making the leap. once this happens, all other men fall out of view and i can only see one.
3) overall i would say libra women and men can be very sketchy, and probably lie about it more than any other sign. the real reason for this is that there is no single reason for that behavior. since libra is all about partnership and being liked by others, it is very likely that other planets influence us in the direction of "polyamory" or commitment.
True, I've heard Libras only cheat when they're like, really frustrated and after they've thought through the pros and cons and cons and pros . . .
Mostly they just flirt a lot, because they enjoy the attention, but it's harmless.
When Libra cheats it's because he really hasn't figured out which side of the fence he prefers yet, and is riding the scales up and down, weighing the odds.
In the meantime they usually get discovered and dumped, which is too bad, because they're so romantic and really don't mean anyone any harm
Then again, harm is part of harmony so maybe you can't have one without the other? Like, take the good with the bad and enjoy the man the way he is. At least you'll have a lot of parties to go to!
Funny revisiting this thread again made me notice that I forgot to mention that my Venus is in Taurus. I think that may very well help my Cancerian sun keep my Libran moon in check. I also have a lot of earth in my chart which would provide a grounding influence.
I may be new to astrology but the most prevalent thing I have learned so far is that lumping all those that happen to have one aspect of their chart (the moon in this case) togther is folly.
We should remember to look at the overall "feel" of a birthchart.

i believe committment is heart related and once i no longer feel an intense connection in my heart, as far as i'm concerned there is nothing there or any person to commit
i have been in relationships in which i've wanted to be faithful but i find that because like many libras i am not comprised of the lovely stuff that makes sagitarians say the thing to be said without giving regard to hurt feelings, etc., presenting the truth of my feelings in a beautifully wrapped package somehow makes men not only not take me seriously, but keeps em' coming back. i have never told a man i am his forever girl. in fact, i say, i'm the place-holder. and yet....

Libra can argue in such a way you wouldn't know there is an axe to grind, rather they hone the edge of their argument on a graciously appointed whetstone. Probably one you bought them for Christmas last year hung on display as an ornament on the kitchen wall-- beauty with purpose.

Long distance relationship turned suddenly cold when I fell asleep on the phone after a hard day at work and he actually got MAD about it. MAD! This is the second time this charmer had hurt my heart, so we decided to end it and "remain friends". I am still dumbstruck, but not broken hearted. I was in a lesbian relationship for 2 1/2 years with a Libra who wasn't comfortable with being gay and she left me recently after she started acting distant. She has started living with her boss and is completely having an emotional affair, I don't think it's physical at this time due to her discomfort with being gay. I can't believe all these posts about Libras. I'm a virgo too and she said I constricted her which to me is total BS considering the things I actually did do for her. Are they really this heartless? I love her and we are still living together even though she stays at her bosses house but I am pretty well shocked at her fantasy land behavior.

well i can explain it in two different ways ...
1- libras love to have a lot of friends specially with the oppisite sex , others may think it's more than just friend ship because libra's friendship looks too close !
as a libra girl i admitt that i prefer male friends than female friends plus+ that i have a lot of gay friends and they like me so !
2- libras need love and action in the same time , i need to laugh one day and cry the other by my lover , or else i will get bored and he will be just one of my regular friends !
and we like to be bossy sometimes and slaves in the other ..
i think that libras who's got two relations at a time need one to love and the other to be loved , if i love my partner while he loves me then the problem solved !

i am a libra woman and we are very similar to aries women, but we are very discreet, subtle, sort of like an iron fist in a velvet glove. cheating comes natural to librans, whether it's emotional, mental (phone sex with strangers at a dateline phone service 805-8888) or physical because the fact is, we are in love with love and theres probably no human that could complete us,(maybe the fire signs could, my first love was an aries but he smoked and drank too much, therefore, i had to let him go and trust me i tried to change him, typical trait of a woman) sure it would hurt me if my lover cheated on me, but being a cardinal sign is a plus because most librans that i know off, including myself suddenly gets the "i don't a give a f*ck," attitude. sometimes i'm amazed at myself, one minute, i'm sweet and vulnerable then next, i'm cold as ice.

I completely agree. My ex was a libra, and he swore on his life that he thought cheating was the worst thing you could do in a relationship. I had one of my friends (that he didn't know I was friends with ;-) ) hit on him to test him. Sure enough, he gave her his number. She asked if he had a girlfriend, and he said nope! And they went on several dates and I "caught" him.
I just couldn't figure out how he managed to not feel guilty. He still told me I was beautiful and that he loved me. Ridiculous!!
On top of that, my step-father is a Libra and he has cheated on my mother several times! (She's a capricorn, and she forgave him). Both men have cheated and yet still get jealous as heck if they even THINK you're looking at a man!
My brother's got Sun and Moon in Libra, but he's also got Venus conjunct Pluto in Scorpio. If he ever cheated on his girlfriend I think I'd have a heart attack.
With a combo like that, it wouldn't exactly be surprising if he did.

I have a libra married male who wants to see me for lunch once a week...we knew each other 23 years ago.He has no respect for his wife at all..I told him no,that it was not a good idea. First of all you libras that have been with capricorns, Pisces, Scorpios, and Virgos should know that Libras are not compatible with those signs at all. If you have had a bad experience with these signs then that is most likely the reason why things have not worked out for you (both ways) because you are not compatible.
Yes they may make good friends and all but as far as a relationship goes its a NO GO. We are most compatible with Aquarius, Gemini, Sagittarius, and Leo. Im a Libra female and my mate is a Gemini. We are very compatible and similar in alot of ways. I enjoy being with my Gemini because he keeps me interested. I will say that sometimes I do ? myself about certain things like, when I get around another man that catches my eye will I cheat?
Well the truth is everyone has had either the erg or thought to cheat on there mates. Whether u go through with it or not is a totally different story. But if you sit up here and say "oh well I have never felt that way b4" then you are just lying to yourself. Everyone is human and God gave us eyes to see meaning (we are not blind to others). There is nothing wrong with having some kind of "thought" about another human being just as long as you dont over-step your boundaries.
Now if u really wanna know about how libra works let me start by saying about 70% of whats been said from the others is true. The other 30% is complete garbage and just plain harsh. Now just so u know Im only talking about Libra women NOT MEN because we act a little different when it comes to the men. First off ALL Libras are not liers. U do have some that will go out of there way to lie because they have nothing else better to do but that could be any sign. Libras are just the ones being put on the spot at the moment. Now a real libra women will "sometimes" naturally lie to keep conversation, keep your interest or to keep u from knowing the truth about something they dont really want you to know because 9 times of 10 someone always has something to say that may dissapoint, irritate, or confuse the Libra.
We are very charming, loving, and giving but can be as mean as we want to be by nature. If you ever wanted to know if your Libra is cheating on you u may ask, but there is really no point simply because if they have they most likely will not tell you. Simply because they are trying to spare your feelings. In this case, most time the other mate has done something to the Libra to make her drift off. If u have your Libra locked down tight you should have nothing to worry about. All that being said Libras really are gd ppl to be with and they're great marriage material. They will go out of there way for you as long as u are able to bend to there needs. They have a wonderful get up and go attitude and are great communicators. They are also easy to up and leave a mate if they feel attraction or attention is no longer strong like it once was.
You do have some that will make you aware of how they are feeling b4 they decide to quit your ass and, hope things change up for the better. And as far as "having more then one mate goes"!!! As u saw not all libra have to have more then one. Only ppl that are greedy need to be that way. It has nothing to do with signs and planets. Its all about the person.
This is because in actuality they are not ready to be serious and they tend to not really trust themselves around others because they may cheat, so in that case YES some need more then one. But agian that can be any sign, Libras are just the ones on the spot right now.
It all just really boils down to working things out with your partner and know that nothing comes easy. And just a last minute FYI no relationship is PERFECT. There is "ALWAYS" gonna be something you dont like, its up to you whether you wanna deal with it or move to the next problemed relationship.
